Mark Anthony Conditt used five homemade explosive devices to murder two people and injure another five in Austin, Texas, and near San Antonio between March 2 and March 20. The 23-year-old Conditt ultimately committed suicide by detonating a sixth bomb inside his vehicle on March 21. More than a week after his death, authorities have detained and questioned one of Conditt’s roommates to determine if he had any knowledge or involvement in the acts of domestic terrorism.

“Any person with knowledge of such an horrific act would have a duty to report it to the authorities and if they failed to do so could be complicit in the conspiracy,” Interim Austin Police Chief Brian Manley told CNN.

Manley also said that the investigation remains underway and Conditt’s motive is unknown.
