The Chicago Police Department is searching for a male who allegedly attempted to lure, and potentially kidnap, a 10-year-old child at the Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School located on the 3700 block of North Bell on April 12 at 2:15 p.m. The offender motioned for the child to come closer to the wrought iron fence where he was standing. When the child approached, the offender touched the preteen on the shoulder and babbled incoherently. The child then ran from the subject and informed school personnel about the incident. The police believe the offender may have mental health problems and that he could be suffering from early-onset dementia.

The offender is described as of either Asian or Hispanic descent and between the ages of 60 and 70. Furthermore, the offender was last seen wearing a tan-colored cap, tan-colored jacket and blue jeans with black shoes. If you have any information about this incident, call the Area North Bureau of Detectives at (312) 744-8261.
