A 47-year-old man was shot during an armed carjacking Saturday morning in the Uptown neighborhood.

Authorities say the incident, where a man sustained a gun-shot wound to the thigh, occurred at the 800 block of West Leland.

Two males, between the ages of 20 and 25, approached the vehicle, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim’s white four-door Hyundai Sedan, according to police.

When the victim attempted to grab the firearm, officials say he was subsequently shot by one of the offenders.

The victim was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition.

No arrests have been made and the investigating is ongoing.
