A woman was sexually assaulted near Chicago’s Millennium Park after chasing a man who stole her cell phone at a Chicago Transit Authority train stop Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to Chicago police, the 27-year-old woman was waiting around 4 a.m. on a platform near Dearborn and Washington when a man took her phone out of her hands.

The man ran and the woman chased him into the street and toward Millennium Park, authorities said.

The suspect stopped in the 100 block of East Randolph Street, where he sexually assaulted her, according to police.

The man then fled the scene, which is the same block as Millennium Park, and the woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, where she was listed in stable condition.

Police released an image of the man wanted in the attack Tuesday evening. The suspect, according to authorities is between 25 and 35 years old, had long, black dreads and carried a multi-colored backpack.

Community activist Andrew Holmes passed out fliers with photos of the offender Tuesday afternoon.
