The Chicago area is set to see a breezy, hot and humid day Wednesday, but for some, a strong to severe storm is possible.

Most locations are expected to stay dry, but isolated scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible at any time. With these storms comes the risk for strong to severe weather, including hail up to 1 inch in diameter and damaging winds.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Kenosha County until 10 p.m.

A Significant Weather Advisory has also been issued for Lake and McHenry Counties until 7:30 p.m., as a storm, moving east at 25 mph, was spotted on doppler radar.

The storm is packing half-inch hail and wind speeds in excess of 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance for showers and storms will continue overnight and will return Thursday evening.
