Three people were shot near a popular Chicago beach Wednesday night on the city’s North Side, authorities said.

A 19-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were wounded by gunfire as they drove in the 4700 block of North Simonds Drive, just north of Montrose Beach, around 10:45 p.m., according to police.

Officials said someone pulled alongside them and opened fire into their vehicle, striking them.

The 19-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with wounds to the wrist and hip. Both were listed in stable condition.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Thorek Hospital in stable condition with a wound to the arm.

The shooting is possibly gang-related, police said, but no one was in custody as of Thursday morning.
