Woman Found Dead in West Side Chicago Street

Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead in a West Side Chicago street early Thursday morning.

The woman, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was found unresponsive just after 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Huron in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.

During an initial death investigation, detectives discovered the woman had “blunt trauma to the face” and defensive wounds on her body.

Area North detectives have since opened a homicide investigation.

The woman’s identity was not being released as of Thursday morning.
