Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Metra Train Near Mont Clare Station

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metra train near the Mont Clare station on Sunday night, the agency announced.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when an outbound train on Metra’s Milwaukee District West line struck a pedestrian.

The train was due in Elgin at 9:55 p.m., but the agency is expecting extensive delays in connection with the fatal accident.

The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
