Coast Guard Asks Boaters to Stop Fake Mayday Calls

When there’s an emergency, every second counts. First responders are trained to maneuver rapidly whenever there’s a dangerous or critical situation. But what happens when they arrive to a scene and there’s nothing to be found? Tuesday the Coast Guard issued a warning after receiving a series of fake distress calls. NBC 5’s Charlie Wojciechowski reports.
