Images Released of New Floating Chicago Museum

A new “floating museum” is coming to Chicago’s riverfront and can be viewed at various locations across the city. The floating mobile art gallery titled “River Assembly” will travel by river and feature interactive elements.

The museum is available for viewing at the Eleanor Boathouse at Park 571 from Aug. 7-13 and the Chicago Riverwalk (at the River Theater between LaSalle and Clark St.) from Aug. 14-28, It end its tour at Navy Pier.

The exhibit includes a moving image program, a tribute to Jean Baptiste Du Sable and a “wonder cabinet” created by local artists. Free programming is offered with music, performances and interactive activities.

Admission is free to visit the floating museum.
