A Chicago police officer is fine after he was shot in his bulletproof vest while responding to a domestic incident on Saturday evening.
According to a police spokesman, officers were responding to an incident in the 6400 block of North Kedzie when the man, whom police say is mentally ill, fired shots, with the bullet grazing the officer’s vest.
Police returned fire, but did not strike the suspect.
No was injured during the incident, and the suspect is in custody, according to police.
