The Chicago White Sox will have to wait at least a little bit longer to get their season underway, as their game against the Kansas City Royals has been delayed by rain.

The White Sox, who are opening their season at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, won’t be underway until later this afternoon, according to officials. The game was slated to get underway at a delayed time of 4 p.m., but rain is preventing the teams from taking the field.

The original start time of the game, which will see Carlos Rodon take the hill against Brad Keller, was 3:15 p.m. The game will air on NBC Sports Chicago once it gets underway.

Stay tuned to NBC Chicago for the latest updates on the weather in Kansas City.
