A suspect is on the loose after police say a 16-year-old girl was killed and a 39-year-old woman was hurt in a Kenosha shooting Thursday afternoon, according to police. 

Authorities were called to a residence in the 10900 block of 66 Street in Kenosha on Thursday afternoon, according to police. When they arrived on scene, they found the two victims inside the residence with gunshot wounds.

Police say that a 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, and that the 39-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital in serious, but stable, condition.

According to police, officers maintained a perimeter around the house until a Tactical Response Team was able to make entry. No one else was located in the home, and detectives believe that the suspect fled the area.

No description of the suspect was immediately made available.
